The Retreat Workshop
So called because it is a peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. It offers the perfect environment in which to learn and put into practice the fascinating art of Antique Furniture Restoration, French Polishing and much more.

You will learn techniques and skills, almost lost in this modern age, from a master restorer. The workshop is centrally heated, not only spacious, warm and superbly equipped, but also a comfortable learning environment. Each student has his or her own workbench and tools. You are welcome to bring your own furniture. Please check with us first as to its suitability.
There is excellent but limited B&B accommodation offered at The Retreat, please ask for details. We will also provide you with a list of excellent B&Bs, hotels, camp sites and cottages to rent, local to ‘The Retreat’, so you will be able to select the type and cost of the accommodation to suit you.
‘The Retreat’ workshops are located in the heart of the Cornish countryside, near the coast. The ancient sea town of Fowey is a short distance away. There are many wonderful country and coastal walks near at hand. The Eden Project is a 20 minute drive away. Why not spend a little time, before or after the course, exploring this part of magical Cornwall.
