Due to the difficult times we find ourselves in we have been requested to increase the size of our courses instead of increasing the price. This we will do from January 1st 2024.
A light lunch, tea and coffee is provided at no charge on all non-residential courses.
It is agreed that you will follow our guidelines regarding the Covid virus (and any other variants of Covid) to help us keep you and others safe during your course with us. Please bring to your course the governments recommended level of personal protection equipment. This will change over time, so please contact us with suggestions and to find out the guidelines we are currently following. You agree not to hold the course provider Thomson Antiques responsible if you contract the Covid virus (and any other variants of Covid) during your time with us.
We will never postpone your course unless we have absolutely no other option. However, we are still getting last minute postponements due to Covid and we can only run our courses with a minimum of three people. This is because many of the exercises carried out during our courses are designed for three or four people and cannot be conducted with fewer.
It is agreed that if we are left with only three participants or less on any course we have no option but to postpone that course. All remaining course participants who have not postponed agree to transfer to a later scheduled course date of their choice without the option of cancelling and receiving a refund.
The deposit payment is always non refundable but can be transferred to a later scheduled course date of your choice (in accordance with our other terms and conditions). The cancellation of your course and receiving a refund of the balance payment is only possible up to the point your course has begun. Your course will be deemed to have begun as soon as you are emailed the PDF home study section of your course. You will then be welcome to transfer to a later scheduled course date of your choice (in accordance with our other terms and conditions).
We recommend that all your accommodation and travel bookings include an option for you to postpone or cancel in the event of the unfortunate postponement of your course. This will ensure no loss of your deposits. To further avoid any danger of loss we recommend you take out the type of holiday insurance that will cover your time with us. (The market for this is changing all the time so we have no companies we can suggest). You agree to not hold the course provider Thomson Antiques responsible for any losses if you choose not to follow these recommendations.
You agree to pay the balance of your course fee(s) twelve weeks prior to the start date of your course. Course bookings made less than twelve weeks prior to the start date of a course must be paid in full at the time of booking.
If you postpone more than twelve weeks prior to the start date of your course (or series of courses) we will arrange a new fixed scheduled course date of your choice, free of charge. This is providing you do not ask for a refund of the course fee for any reason later on.
If you postpone within twelve weeks of your course; we will do our best to find someone to fill your space. If we succeed, you agree to pay £95 to cover the cost of finding the replacement and we will arrange a new fixed scheduled course date of your choice. This is providing you do not ask for a refund of the course fee for any reason later on. If after doing our upmost we cannot find your replacement, you will forfeit your entire course fee. We consider this fair as if we had been given the agreed amount of time, twelve weeks, we could have sold the course place to someone else and you would not have forfeited your course fee.
No Thomson Antiques course manuals are to be reproduced without written permission.
Our new additional open-air summer work space is now open and some of our courses or part of our courses will be held there.
We recommend the use of appropriate eye protection and face masks whenever using solvents. We also recommend you wear the appropriate eye protection when using hand tools and an appropriate dust mask when engaged in any activity that creates dust.
We further recommend the wearing of an apron and footwear that ensures a sure footing. Always follow instructions, especially when using sharp tools and always ask if you are unsure about anything. Your safety is paramount. Rubber gloves must always be worn whenever using hot water or handling solvents and chemicals. Please provide your own rubber gloves, apron, eye protection and face masks. Call Peter Thomson on 01392 432786 if you have any questions regarding the safety equipment to bring.
You agree to abide by all health and safety recommendations and consult the course provider before engaging on any task that could cause any kind of injury and to not hold Thomson Antiques, the course providers, responsible for any injuries sustained during your course(s).
It is understood that the diploma offered by Thomson Antiques is issued by us and not any outside body.
Thomson Antiques may at any time, in its sole discretion and without prior notice, amend these terms and conditions by posting the amended terms and conditions on their website. Please book only after having read and agreed to the above terms and conditions.
We will provide bank details for your payment at the time we confirm your course dates over the phone or by email. Please make payment through your bank, a faster payment transfer or send a cheque made out to Thomson Antiques if you prefer. If outside the UK please use an international bank transfer, we will provide the IBAN number and SWIFT CODE needed at the time of booking.
Your course place is reserved only after the deposit is paid and booking form has been received.
