A light lunch, tea and coffee is provided at no charge on all non-residential courses.
Follow our guidelines regarding the Covid virus (and any other variants of Covid) to help us keep you and others safe during your course with us. Please bring to your course the required level of personal protection equipment. This will change over time, so please contact us with suggestions and to find out the guidelines we are currently following. You agree not to hold the course provider Thomson Antiques responsible if you contract the Covid virus (and any other variants of Covid) during your time with us.
If your course has to be postponed due to the Covid virus, (and any other variants of Covid) it is agreed, in these particular circumstances only, any payment you have made will be transferred to a later scheduled course date of your choice without charge. All other participants on the same postponed course who have not contracted the virus agree to transfer to a later scheduled course date of their choice without charge or the option of cancelling and receiving a refund.
Reasons for the above
We have had many requests by the people coming on our courses to postpone at the last minute due to contracting Covid or one of its variants. We have been and want to continue allowing anyone who has contracted one of the Covid variants to postpone late, without the loss of their course fee(s). We can only afford to do this if others on the same courses do not request a refund of their course fee(s) and agree to the postponement and transfer to a later course.
Your accommodation and travel bookings need to include an option to postpone or cancel in the event of a postponement of your course, due to the Covid virus (and any other variants of Covid) or any other reason. This will ensure no loss of your booking fees. You agree to not hold the course provider Thomson Antiques responsible for any losses.
If you are concerned about the loss of any of the booking fees we recommend you take out the type of holiday insurance that will cover your time with us. (The market for this is changing all the time so we have no companies we can suggest).
You agree to pay the balance of your course fee(s) twelve weeks prior to the start date of your course. Course bookings made less than twelve weeks prior to the start date of a course must be paid in full at the time of booking.
If you postpone more than twelve weeks prior to the start date of your course (or series of courses) we will arrange a new fixed scheduled course date of your choice, free of charge. This is providing you do not ask for a refund of the course fee later in the future.
If you postpone within twelve weeks of your course, we will arrange new fixed course dates of your choice; this is only providing we can fill the space. We will charge you a £35.00 fee to cover the costs of finding someone to take your place. If we cannot find someone, you agree to pay 50% of the course fee. This is providing you do not ask for a refund of the course fee later in the future.
We urge you to postpone rather than cancel. If you cancel more than twelve weeks prior to your course (or series of courses) you will lose your deposit(s) and we will refund the balance payment. This is only in the event you have not previously postponed your course dates, in which case you will lose your balance payment too. If you cancel within twelve weeks of your course (or series of courses); you will lose your course fee(s).

We recommend the use of appropriate eye protection and face masks whenever using solvents. We also recommend you wear the appropriate eye protection when using hand tools and an appropriate dust mask when engaged in any activity that creates dust.
We further recommend the wearing of an apron and footwear that ensures a sure footing. Always follow instructions, especially when using sharp tools and always ask if you are unsure about anything. Your safety is paramount. Rubber gloves must always be worn whenever using hot water or handling solvents and chemicals. Please provide your own rubber gloves, apron, eye protection and face masks. Call Peter Thomson on 01392 432786 if you have any questions regarding the safety equipment to bring.
You agree to abide by all health and safety recommendations and consult the course provider before engaging on any task that could cause any kind of injury and to not hold Thomson Antiques, the course providers, responsible for any injuries sustained during your course(s).
